From nutritional deficiency, aging, genetic inheritance to lifestyle factors (sleep deprivation, stress, sun exposure, alcohol, there are numerous causes for this condition. The breaking of red blood cells that pass through very tiny blood vessels under the skin leaves a trail of black and blue, and they are especially visible around the eyes area where the skin is thinnest.
